THE BUSINESS
 Our client is a leading printing & marketing business. The role of the Site Supervisor is to manage the production teams to ensure quality and productivity targets are met along with meeting customer deadlines.  This is a fast paced, bespoke manufacturing business working to very tight deadlines.  The role is suited to someone with experience of working in a bespoke manufacturing environment. This is a very” hands on” role where you will be expected to be working in the production environment as well as carrying out duties of the Supervisor!
  
 
THE ROLE
  • Managing skilled and semi-skilled machine operators.
  • Monitoring daily employee performance to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and in line with customer needs.
  • Ensure operators are working to their schedule and oversee progress.
  • Planning resources to match demand and customer deadlines.
  • Monitoring jobs through production and rescheduling to meet customer SLAs and deadlines.
  • Regular communication with other departments.
  • Attend and contribute to production planning and customer project meetings.
  • Developing and maintaining operator training programmes whilst training and integrating new employees into the workplace.
  • Agreeing and maintaining maintenance schedules.
  • Developing and implementing improved production process ideas
 
             THE PERSON + ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • This role is best suited to someone that has previous experience of working within a print/bindery role; however, we will consider exceptional candidates that have worked outside of the industry.
  • Must be highly organised, structured, and flexible.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines whilst keeping a calm, level-headed approach.
  • Ability to think on their feet, changing production priorities at a moment’s notice.
  • Ability to manage individuals on a one-to-one basis as well as team projects.
  • Leadership, motivational and conflict management skills.
  • Good decision-making skills, ability to delegate and have a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Good spoken and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Experience working with lean manufacturing tools such as 5S or Keisen.
