Head of Marketing

Location: West Yorkshire (With UK & International Travel)

Package: £65k - £75k (Negotiable) + Car + Bonus + Benefits

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Marketing. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and execution of comprehensive marketing strategies to drive brand awareness, engage B2B customers, and increase consumer sales. Reporting directly to senior management, this role requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Marketing Strategy Development: Develop and implement multi-channel marketing strategies and promotional programs to drive interest and sales, aligning with overall business objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Appoint, manage, and motivate the marketing team to deliver a full mix of marketing activities, ensuring effective communication and collaboration within the department and across the organisation.
  • Brand Management: Act as the custodian of the brand, ensuring all marketing campaigns are aligned with the core brand message and values.
  • Advertising and Promotion: Lead the delivery of all advertising and marketing plans, overseeing the conception, development, and implementation of marketing campaigns.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with senior management, field sales force, and internal department heads to effectively communicate marketing initiatives and gather insights for strategy development.
  • New Product Development: Lead the New Product Introduction (NPI) team in identifying new market opportunities and developing a pipeline of innovative products for successful launch.
  • Budget Management: Efficiently manage annual marketing budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor, review, and report on all marketing activities, results, and Return on Investment (ROI), making data-driven decisions to optimise campaigns.
  • Compliance and Regulations: Ensure all marketing materials and activities comply with accepted professional standards, policies, procedures, and legislation.
  • Leadership and Development: Promote and embed strong and inspirational leadership within the team, demonstrating the company's values and leading by example.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a marketing role, with at least 3 years in a management position.
  • Proven track record in driving multi-channel marketing projects and developing marketing strategies.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Working knowledge of SEO, lead generation, affiliate marketing, and digital marketing practices.
  • Proficiency in software packages including Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Mailchimp, and Google Business Tools.

Advantageous Skills

  • Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) professional diploma.
  • Previous experience in the bed or furniture industry.
