Category Buyer - Peterlee (Hybrid) - Up to £34/hr - Inside IR35 - 24 month initial contract

Do you have purchasing experience, and are you seeking a new long term contract in Peterlee? Jonathan Lee Recruitment is helping one of the world’s leading manufacturers of off-highway machinery recruit a Category Buyer, and the hybrid role comes with a contract rate of £34.00 per hourc

In your first few weeks in this Category Buyer role, you can expect to:

• Direct the development, and communication and implementation of a site, regional, or worldwide sourcing strategy
• Manage policies, agreements, source catalogs, special purchasing programmes, and support specific product line(s) NPI programs
• Liaise with the corresponding Category/platform based Buyers
• Provide leadership for sourcing, logistics and resource management decisions
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and purchasing new product introduction activities within Purchasing

To apply for this Category Buyer role, your soft skills, expertise and experience should include:

• Strong negotiation skills
• Experience of working in a broader metrics system
• Technical knowledge and experience (Does not need to be specifically engineering related, but an understanding is required)
• Project leadership experience
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) Understanding of QCLDM
• Knowledge of purchasing strategy and supplier sourcing strategies
