Assistant Accountant - IFRS16 & Intercompany

About the role

We are recruiting for an Assistant Accountant on a 12 month fixed term basis (maternity cover) to support in requiring all non-property that meets IFRS16 criteria is placed on the balance sheet by recognising a ROU asset and liability, within financial systems Inner Vision and SAP.

This role requires you to provide support in recording financial transactions between different legal entities within the same parent company Tesco as well as provide support within the overall Booker period end close process as required.

Role Responsibility

• Prepare, periodic checks comparing the Inner Vision system to the Fleet List and modify or upload, accordingly.
• Prepare, issue for approval and record intercompany Purchase Orders and intercompany Invoices covering both routine and ad hoc intercompany transactions.
• Produce weekly intercompany statements to facilitate the monthly matching reconciliation procedure with counterparties (operating on SAP and Hyperion systems globally).
• Preparing and posting SAP Promenta journals relating to IFRS16 and intercompany transactions.
• Complete intercompany Balance Sheet reconciliations to ensure the integrity of the Balance Sheet.
• Liaise regularly with the non-property team to review lease documents for meeting IFRS16 criteria & intercompany finance team of parent and its legal entities to ensure matching, reconciliation and the ultimate elimination of transactions occurring between them.

You will need

• Accountancy knowledge
• Advanced Excel skills
• SAP knowledge advantageous
• AAT qualified, or equivalent
• Studying at a higher level advantageous but not essential
• Keen eye for detail
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with an ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences
• Action orientated; ability to respond to feedback and follow up to ensure positive outcomes
