We are currently recruiting a Maintenance Supervisor for our Bedford Hotel based in the heart of Bloomsbury to join our vibrant and multi-cultural team. With over 3076 bedrooms, 10 restaurants across our 7 Imperial London Hotels, our maintenance team are never short of something to do. As Maintenance supervisor you will be responsible for making sure our Bedford Hotel is well presented and maintained and at all times ensuring both an effective running of the hotel and an exceptional guest experience. You’ll coordinate daily tasks and any other scheduled maintenance activity with the team so that requests are managed promptly and in a timely manner whilst operating in a safe and efficient way according to all H&S legislation and company policy. What you’ll be doing Assign daily workload, planning and other scheduled day-to-day maintenance activity and preventive maintenance workload, for a team of shift engineers, painter/ decorators and supervise contractors where necessary.Regularly inspect all aspect of hotel equipment, services, buildings and plant are maintained to the best standard in line with H&S legislation and company guidelines.Liaise regularly with Hotel Manager and other HOD to understand daily workload and other scheduled maintenance activity.Maintain current and working knowledge of all building maintenance systems - Plant rooms, electrical equipment, fire safety systems carrying out regular inspections and supervise the implementation of maintenance standards and procedures.Ensure that all team members are working in line with security and H&S procedure and using all equipment with the proper operation and safety procedures.Recruit, train and develop the team through providing day-to-day coaching of team performance to ensure KPIs are met. Carry out performance reviews to support individual development and management of poor performance. What we’d like from you Previous managerial or supervisory experience gained in a similar maintenance position ideally within a hotel environment, large retail outlet or building management services role.You will be able to perform basic electrical, plumbing, decoration and carpentry tasks, though any trade qualifications in NVQ level 2/3 electrical, plumbing or heating would be advantageousUp to date knowledge on Health and Safety laws and regulations promoting a safe working environment at all times.You are able to manage a varied workload with the ability to work under pressure reacting quickly to resolve any issues.Self-motivated, takes pride in their work and prioritises the safety of themselves and others at all times.Excellent communication skills with the ability to deal with individuals at any level internally and externally.You will have a flexible leadership style that knows how to motivate the team to achieve great results and reach their individual potential. Our client, based in Somerset BA16 is a logistics company with a large 28,000 metre squared highly automated warehouse which operates 24/7/365. They are currently seeking an experienced Shift Maintenance Supervisor who can lead a small team which fixes electro-mechanical faults and carries out preventative maintenance operations within a warehouse environment, it’s a hands-on role you will be on the tools around 40% of your time. Key responsibilities People Leadership including delivery of performance reviews, development and coaching of team, dealing with employee relations issues, and employee welfare and wellbeing. Assist with planning of Planned Preventative Maintenance of automation equipment, including the auditing of the equipment. Attend daily meetings & liaise with operations to ensure workload is prioritised correctly. Organise improvements, repairs, and modifications. Organise shift manning to achieve operational requirements. Organise / assist in project installation work including cost reduction activities. Compliance auditing, inclusive of health and safety. Deputise for Site Manager in periods of absence. Skills, qualifications, and experience Suitably qualified with a recognised engineering qualification (ONC minimum) or recognised apprenticeship, track record in people leadership and development The salary is £45320 per annum plus £5,000 shift allowance plus all the usual benefits 6% pension, private healthcare. It’s an average of 42 hours per week working from 0600-1800-0600 on a Panama shift. NB - The Panama shift is a slow rotating shift pattern that uses 4 teams, and two 12-hr shifts to provide 24/7 coverage. The working and non-working days follow this pattern: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off. Each team works the same shift (day or night) for 14 days then switches over to the other shift for the next 14 days. After 28 days, the same sequence starts over.
